Henry (brother of Samuel and Thomas) is the son of Henry and Edith (Squire) Adams About 1650 Henry became one of the founders of Medfield, Mass., where he held numerous town offices. On 6 January 1673/74 he was appointed lieutenant of the local military company. During King Philip’s War, Medfield was raided by the Indians on 21 Feb. 1675/6, most of the town was destroyed, and Henry was killed at his doorway during this attack. Ironically, after Henry’s death, his widow was accidentally killed the same day. Elizabeth had been taken to the house of the minister, the Rev. Wilson, where she retired to an upstairs bedroom and while lying in bed, was killed by the accidental discharge of a gun in the hand of Capt. Jacob who was in the room below her.
